The criteria to maintain Priority Listing status include:
  • Superior Patient Care, including diagnosis and treatment planning. This is monitored during claim review, through profile reporting and patient surveys.
  • Treatment Practices that take only patient care into account, and not maximization of available benefits.
  • Billing Practices that include services appropriately under more comprehensive procedure.
  • Non-covered services disclosed and appropriately recommended and priced.
  • Appropriate specialist referrals, whether within your office or outside the office. If referral is within your office, inform the patient of participation status. If your specialist does not participate, you must inform patients of additional costs and inform them of options to visit an in-network specialist.
  • Your office staff must be aware of your participation so that when a member requests an appointment you recognize your participation status and welcome them to your office.
  • Understand how to obtain eligibility and benefit information for patients.
  • Written process of informing and consent for any charges for non-covered services.
